Friday’s post left off with a glimpse of an empty crate and promises of puppy cuteness to come. (By the way, I’d still LOVE any feedback y’all have to give on the kitchen. I’m at a point where it’s nearly “done,” but a fresh perspective always shakes things up!) And here she is!
Being a puppy is hard work!
Her name is Tesla, after the rockstar scientist. This was one of the names I really liked for a baby, but my husband vowed that no spawn of his would ever bear this name. Surprisingly, this was the first name he suggested when we started talking about getting a dog. The reason behind his enthusiasm was made apparent later, after we had gotten her, and he said it was the only sure fire way to “lock [the name] down, and ensure that it’s off ‘the list’ forever.” Haha. Well played, Handsome. He also got to pick the middle name: Macallan, after the famous single malt of the Highlands of Scotland. She is a West Highland Terrier after all! So, Tesla Macallan was the perfect name. Speaking of Macallan. . .
Of course we had to have a wee dram to celebrate her homecoming!
I like big ice and I can not lie. But you know what I love even more? Our sweet little puppy and how happy she makes the girls.
The look on Bébé’s face is priceless. That is the joy that comes from getting your temple licked by the sweetest doggie in the world at 6:00 in the morning.
And Tesla loves her Daddy. Of course she does – all the bitches love him. I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist. Side note: Husband’s pose in the pic above is identical to my own when we had finished the floor. That’s how much I loved this kitchen makeover.
So, anyway – that’s our new addition! She such a scrumptious, sweet, snuggly little cupcake. J’adore. Speaking of terriers, a good friend reminded me of this scene from Best in Show, and although Tesla isn’t a Norfolk Terrier, she IS a terrier, nonetheless.

Anyway, It’s intense having a new little puppy, and I hope if you’ll forgive me if posts are a little – um, photo dense in the days to follow. Once we get into a rhythm I’ll be back to my obnoxious, wordy self – I promise!

Puppy!! So cute!!
Thank you!!! We love her! :) xoxo
The puppy is very cute! With regards to your curtains, the ikat drawing by the door would look good in a fabric. It is a safe choice. I thought a black and white fabric might look good and lime green is popular with the color of your kitchen. You have good taste and I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
Thank you so much! I especially appreciate the suggestions about the kitchen! I wish I still had some more of that ikat fabric – the framed piece by the door was a little remnant I had left over from the living room curtains and bistro chair covers. I’m keeping my eyes open, but I still haven’t found exactly what I’m looking for. There are so many fabrics to choose from!!! :)
