Three posts in a row this week! Craziness, I know. This actually brings me to my first goal of this new year:
You will be seeing blog posts arrive with much, much higher frequency. Gone are the days of waiting ten days between updates. My goal is to have new material up on the site at least 4 days a week. Does this mean that I’m going to be dedicating a lot more time to the blog? With two children at home, the answer is no. True, I am learning to be smarter about my time, but more than that I am making a conscious effort to subvert my particularist tendencies.
Notice that I did not say perfectionist. I do not consider myself to be a perfectionist, because I don’t think humans are capable of perfection. What I am is particular. On a good day this helps me keep my house nice, allows me to experience design aesthetic “flow” and provides a sense of organization and order. On a not-so-good day. . .being a particularist keeps me from getting much accomplished because I am putting way too much time and energy into tiny details. This blog is a great example. I love to write. I love to share my journey with you all. Sometimes, though, I feel like I simply don’t have enough time to sit down and bust out a two hour post. From now on, however, I’m making a real effort to write more frequently, even if the posts aren’t completely polished. I guess you could say I’m keeping it real.
By the way – you might be saying Goal #1? What is she talking about? What was that freakishly long and nearly incomprehensible list she posted yesterday?? That list covers our guidelines for how we reboot our bodies and our home this month, but it doesn’t actually cover any goals. Tomorrow I’ll share Goal #2! Le Hint: It involves me, 15 pounds I need to lose, a sports bra and a photographer. I’m only incredibly, awfully mildly nervous about it!

Yay for goal #1! Also, this ‘particular’, of which you speak, is something I know all too well, and is the word my husband often uses to describe me (he has even made up a song about it:) )I understand it completely. Looking forward to your upcoming posts. xoxo
Hurray for sisters in particularness! BTW: I need to hear this song some day. ;)
